Prawns or flowers?

Now there’s a dilemma. My local supermarket has taken to announcing all product lines as fit for a Mothering Sunday treat with the impending weekend festivities. Some gifts seem more fitting than others though don’t they? Or do all marketing managers now think we have lost our consumer senses? A bottle of fine wine yes, flowers and chocolates, well of course yes, but prawns? Prawns??? At the end of the first aisle right next to special offer fishcakes, there they were; a big display of fresh prawns, clearly labelled, “Perfect for Mothers Day.” So, I’ll be armed this weekend with card and presentation prawns. I’m sure mothers nationwide will whoop with delight as they pop them in a vase that was otherwise waiting for petrol station carnations.
