The Stag Party

By nealejames | March 6, 2007

My mate Graham. Well, what are we going to do to you?! It’s his stag party this coming weekend. Now usually of course the age old stag tradition is to watch the chap drink himself into oblivion, dress him in something like the YMCA construction worker uniform, drive him to Dover, whereupon we duly chain him to a container, that’s bound for Cyprus the following morning at 4am. But Graham, the wiley character, popped into his party an insurance policy; his father. His father?!?!? Fathers, on the whole, are perfect stag insurance policies. It just wouldn’t seem right parading the stag around town in a drunken, dribbling, animalistic state, if his father lays witness to the whole event. Oh the embarrassment of being stopped halfway through ‘booking’ his voyage to Europe, if dad were to suddently round on the posse and send us all to bed early for getting carried away in the heat of the moment and ’showing off.’ It’s worth remembering this if you’re organising a stag. When looking down Graham’s list of invitees, upon spotting ‘The Father,’ I instantly shelved plans for debauchery, strippers and container ships, and booked afternoon tea at The Ritz. By the way, if you’re organising a stag, I did come across a great company that provide all the dares and routines you’ll ever need for a ‘father-less’ stag. I’ve linked to it here, it’s Stag In A Bag. I’m currently selling mine for half price, since I don’t think The Ritz will accept such behaviour of a Saturday afternoon.

    Hi Neale,

I just had to leave a message about the Mothers Day prawns, as they made me laugh in the supermarket as well. To make things worse, I bought some thinking they’d make a nice starter for a Mothers Day meal, only to discover they went out of date before the actual day. Fancy some rotten prawns mum?

    Love the website.

    Faye
