Star Trek as a wedding march?

By nealejames | February 24, 2007

Hey, well done you guys… and thanks for inviting us to be your wedding photographers. I’m sincerely flattered by the opportunity a couple bestow upon us to record their special day. I’ve written in blogs before that it’s not the easiest photographic task, because it comes with a great deal of responsibility. I’m even more flattered and to be honest, slightly nervous when asked by close friends to be their photographer, although I treat the commission with equal professional passion and attentiveness as I would for a couple we’ve not known long. Andy and Clare got married at The Bear in Hungerford, an hotel that dates back to the 13th Century. William the third actually received the English crown in one of the rooms! We’ve known Andy for years. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Andy in a grumpy mood. Ever. Weddings are full of differing emotions; you could certainly describe the day as a rollercoaster of feelings. With Andy and Clare we knew humour would feature strongly. It started as Clare’s father walked her into the ceremony room to the tune of Star Trek, the Next Generation. Do I need to do a ‘boldly go where no man has gone before’ joke. Probably not. Congrats Andy, loads of love Clare. It was an amazing day.
