Thank you Courtney
By nealejames | February 17, 2007
I’m always flattered when I’m approached by someone wanting to do work experience, doubly so if they choose to do it during their school holiday. We’re a small company; an SME in corp speak, so consequently it’s not something we get too involved in, since there is so much paperwork and admin for obvious reasons. So this is just a quick thank you post for Courtney who spent part of the week finding out that photography is more than compose, focus, capture. Apart from the filing and Internet research, she did produce some great frames with ‘practise families’ in the studio. Hopefully you enjoyed it. I did hear however, that you had an amusing moment with the painting task. We have a modestly sized white high key studio, which is repainted regularly… very regularly. You start at the far end, work across, go back a few feet then repeat the process. Eventually you work your way back to normal flooring and the job is done. Courtney, I hear you started in the middle, painted around yourself and created a kind of ‘Paint Island.’ (Chuckles quietly.) A sense of humour and fun is essential in photography. You brought that to Breathe!
