The Breathemobile

Last night we visited Bradfield Southend in Berkshire close to where we live, nicknamed ‘Christmas Village‘ at this time of year. It’s so called because the locals cover their houses with a thousand and one festive lights each December. We parked up, walked along to look at a farm covered in fairy lights with a parachuting santa and festive outdoors trainset and… SMASH! I turned back to see a chap, turned out to be a local retired doctor, had driven his car off the road and into the back of my Jeep, distracted by all the fairy lights! He’d driven right off the road and pretty much top sided my car. The absurdity was underlined when the police were interviewing us all, to the accompaniment of 15 or so foot high rubber santas perched on a garden fence singing ‘Merry Christmas Everyone.’
