Play to the occasion
By nealejames | September 3, 2006
A busy week, capped off with a wedding viewing. It’s perhaps the most nerve racking professional moment for me, no matter how many times we do it at Breathe. The moment a couple come in to the studio following the honeymoon to view their shots and designs is a time full of anticipation. We spend up to two days in solid post edit work on weddings. It’s not just develop and print, that’s for sure. Fortunately they loved ‘em. There were quite a few photographic high points from the Bowers wedding. The walk through Windsor’s Great Park was one very important part and a certain World Cup 06 quarter final match against Portugal another. I remember when the date was approaching mentioning to Pete and Cathy that there was a strong possibility England would be playing footie that day. So, the couple decided to play to the occasion and show the match on a big screen. It’s worth checking the sports diaries on line. I’m personally still smarting from our exit, but it doesn’t deny me printing the picture of bride and groom the moment our fate was sealed. Weddings should be full of drama. But Ronaldo dear boy, you owe us all a drink. It didn’t dampen the party one single bit. Fab day. And as every England fan knows, we can always win it next time round.
